Global INTAN-Invest at the OECD’s Flagship Conference on National Economic and Financial Accounts

Global INTAN-Invest was highlighted at the OECD Conference on National Economic and Financial Accounts (CNEFA), held in Paris from 25 to 27 November 2025. As the OECD’s leading platform for advancing national accounting and economic measurement, CNEFA brings together statistical authorities, central banks, and international organisations to guide the implementation of the 2025 System of National Accounts (SNA).

In the session on Measuring Non-Financial Assets, Anmol Kaur Grewal (WIPO) and Filippo Bontadini (LUISS University) presented our work on strengthening the measurement of intangible investment. We introduced the latest developments of the Global INTAN-Invest Database, which now provides harmonised annual and quarterly estimates for 32 economies, including new series for Brazil and India, and helps close long-standing data gaps for branding, design and organizational capital.

The presentation also drew on findings from the 2025 World Intangible Investment Highlights, underscoring the continued rapid growth of intangible investment and its increasing relevance amid the rise of artificial intelligence.

CNEFA’s broader discussions on digitalisation, globalisation, human capital, and AI in official statistics reinforced the importance of improved measurement of intangible assets. Our contribution supports the OECD community’s efforts to modernise national accounts and enhance the evidence base for forward-looking economic policymaking.
